1405 Kramer, Karl Kiss Me Quick
Derby Monarch 433 1964 1st thus Paperback Very Good to Fine Sextodecimo -- from 5.75" to 6.75"
Reissues Monarch #121 from 1959. "Red Winslow was a pushover for dames -- especially well-stacked blondes." (Cripes, who isn't?) And in this one, our pushover has been picked by a crime syndicate to perform a special job, for which it sends "a pimp to fetch him, curvaceous blonde Frances Dorset to seduce him and a thug to soften him up (I sorta figured the blonde might be able to do that, but obviously I'm not thinking straight). Naturally, Mr. Winslow finds himself somewhat attracted to the blonde dame, who just happens to be mistress to the crime boss who sent him, and after that there's a bunch of stuff that happens and then a bunch of other stuff happens and then it ends. 156 pages + four pages of advertisements for other Monarch titles, cover illustration (of, curiously, a raven-tressed babe sporting a nice rack, not the blonde-tressed babe sporting a nice rack that the cover blurb led us to suspect) by Bob Maguire (who draws nicely racked babes of all hair colours quite well, thank you very much). A hint of edgewear, thin crease to top right corner of front cover, thin/uneven crease to top right corner of back cover, light handling wear. A nice copy, internally tight and clean.

1437 Lawson, Rev. William LIFE ON PATMOS and Voices of the Silent (signed letter laid in)
Boston Christopher Publishing House 1930 First Edition Hard Cover About Very Good Fair Octavo -- from 7.75" to 9.75" Tall Signed letter laid in
Lawson presents the theme of divine sovereignty in the first part of his book, then offers brief biographical material on John Greenleaf Whittier, Robert Louis Stevenson and Alfred Tennyson, as well as a couple of essays, "The Spots in Two Bright Suns" and "An Arrow of Suggestion." Laid in are two typewritten correspondences from Lawson. The first is a 15-line note concerning a missed visit with friends, and an instruction to pay for the book at the friends' convenience. It is signed, W. Lawson. The second typescript is a longer letter (on both sides) to a W.H. Brewer of Saint John, New Brunswick, recalling earlier times, hoping to receive an invitation to visit, and offering his correspondent best Christmas wishes. One presumes that both letters are to the same individual. Lawson was just a few months shy of his 74th birthday at the time of this second letter. Navy cloth w/gilt lettering to front cover/spine, 138 pages. 1440 Layne (Lane), Gary Passion Riders
Dragon DE 163 1967 First Edition Paperback Good Duodecimo -- from 6.75" to 7.75" tall
Paperback original. "FIERY LOVERS...They were primitive and their loves were basic. The physical tease didn't go here. Pleasures were forced...Desires were sought after and there would be no pussyfooting about in the avid search for physical satiation of hungers of hard working, virile men and their compliant women. Nature in the raw in TROPICAL DESIRES." No publisher pays more attention to detail than a smut publisher, and nothing is more important to a smut publisher than getting the writer's name right. On the cover of this one, Gary Lane gets the credit; on the title page, Gary Layne did the work. 160 pages. Some spine slant, edgewear, corner creases, remainder cut to top edge, small numerals in ink on back cover, general wear. Currently intact, this is nonetheless a fragile item, and would have to be read with care if it didn't go straight into the collection.

American Art Enterprises AW-117 1983 First Edition Paperback Very Good Sextodecimo -- from 5.75" to 6.75"
A quite scarce title from the Adulterous Wives series. According to the publisher's foreword, a pair of swapping couples read this tome before it went to print, and they gave it four thumbs up (probably a couple of other things, too). And of course the publisher assures us that the intent, here, is to aid in the gathering of knowledge about the sexual society in which we live. Photograph front cover shows some bare-breasted woman apparently just as pleased as punch to be a bare-breasted woman on a front cover photograph (hey, ya gotta have dreams). Handling crinkles, sawcut remainder mark to bottom of fore-edge, light general wear. Internally tight and clean.

1485 Lindsay, Terry Quean (Queen) Of Tarts
News Stand Library 24 1949 1st News Stand Library edition Paperback Good Sextodecimo -- from 5.75" to 6.75"
Canadian printing. Originally published in 1945, by Phoenix; Lindsay also writes as Peggy Gaddis, and I have *no* idea why it's spelled "Quean," so don't ask; "Behind the scenes, scheming and torrid loving ran a full gamut of shocking events before the forces of lust and high passion are disentangled from the real love of a man and a woman." (one of the things that I like most about the cover blurbs on these old sleaze paperbacks is the tendency--no, the *obsession*--some of these blurb writers have with changing tenses--it's as if they're trying to make work for proofreaders, but the proofreaders can only read Sanscrit); lightly sunned spine, reading creases, impressions, rubbing, handling wear, pgs. 77-81 have a 1.25" vertical tear beginning at top edge (tear is through text, but text is completely readable), light soil to rear panel, light scratching;

A Galveston high school student discovers that she can communicate with the dead -- which is an enormous relief, sincer she was afraid that she had inherited her father's schizophrenia (okay, so maybe it's not an enormous relief, since there's a malevolent spirit hell-bent on destroying her, and everybody knows how bitchy dead people can be, but hey, as any teenager will tell you, it's better than ending up like a parent).
