First published in 1844 by J. Ollivier, Kinglake details his journeys through Syria, Egypt and Palestine. Gilt decorations to maroon leather covers, gilt decorations/lettering to spine, raised bands, all edges gilt, silk end papers, ribbon bookmark, 240 pages, frontispiece, unused Easton Press bookplate laid in. Light scuffing to gilt edges, a hint of edgewear. A very nice copy.
