Inscribed, signed and dated, on first end paper (inscription reads "To my friend, Dr. Pelham Edgar,/with the sincere regard of/Nathaniel A. Benson/Nov. 14, 1937"). Magic-marker line through Ward Chapman Library (University of New Brunswick in Saint John) bookplate on front pastedown, small library stamp to copyright page, soiled top edge, tanned edges, some slant, in dust jacket w/price on flap magic-markered out, edgewear, 1"-square chip out of top left of front panel, scraping to folds and spine edges, small chip to right spine edge, chipped corners/spine ends, smudged rear panel, 3/4" tear to top of rear panel, short tears to spine edges.
