The first volume of a two-volume set detailing the long and distinguished history of the Corps of Royal Canadian Engineers. Blue cloth w/gilt lettering/decoration to front cover, gilt lettering to spine, [xx] 389 pages (including appendices, glossary of abbreviations, references, index, M.E.A.C. committee, acknowledgement), illustrated w/photographs, fold-out maps (6 called for, all present), map end papers, frontispiece. Bent/worn corners/spine ends, bumps to cover edges, scuffed cloth, tanned edges, light dampstaining to top fore-edge, three library stamps/notations (two to first blank end paper, the other at page 1). There may be another stamp hidden somewhere in the text, but a couple of quick riffles don't immediately turn it up. No other signs of library desecration. Maps all in VG condition. A serviceable copy.
