When the parents of a teenaged girl are killed in an automobile/train collision (the train won), she lives with neighbours until a letter from relatives arrives and sees her beginning a new and different life elsewhere. A scarce book, especially in a dust jacket. Red cloth w/black illustration/lettering to front cover, black lettering to spine, 204 pages + eight pages of advertisements for other Cupples & Leon titles, frontispiece and dust jacket illustration by Russell H. Tandy. Mild slant, light wear to corners/spine ends, previous owner's name/address/date neatly to front end paper, small ink mark to top right corner of same, tanning, in moderately edgeworn dust jacket w/some chipping to corners/spine ends, short edge tears, 1" tears to either side of bottom spine, spine slightly sunned. Jacket now in protective mylar sleeve, which spruces its appearance considerably.
