Etobicoke Quarry Heritage Books 2002 1-55082-294-2 / 9781550822946 First Edition Stiff Card Wraps Very Good to Fine Inscribed & Signed by Author
Blair tells the story of his life in hockey, including "leading Harry Sinden and the Whitby Dunlops to the World Amateur Hockey Championship, signing a 14-year-old Bobby Orr to his NHL contract with the Boston Bruins, coaching the Kingston Frontenancs (EPHL), Clinton Comets (EHL), and Saginaw Gears (IHL) to league championships, directing player personnel for the Los Angeles Kings, and co-owning the Pittsburgh Penguins." When Blair was fired as general manager of the Minnesota North Stars, he was replaced by former North Stars coach Jack Gordon, who shortly thereafter traded away several of Blair's key acquisitions, one of them being Fred "Buster" Harvey. This copy is inscribed to Harvey and signed by Blair, in a somewhat shaky hand: "Buster./I never would have traded you either/as Jack Gordon did./Hope you enjoy the book/Buster./Wren Blair." Buster Harvey died on November 25, 2007, of cancer. Promotional business card for the book laid in. 343 pages (including acknowledgements), illustrated. Light general wear. Internally tight and clean.
