A soldier for whom doctors have given up hope of recovery steals away from the government hospital where he is being treated, convinced that "if he could go to the sea and get plenty of fresh air, exercise and sunshine, he might make a real effort to cure himself." Green cloth, 369 pages. At some point the bottom edge of the dust jacket became stuck to the book, so its removal left a few bits of paper to the front and back bottom cover edges. Faint soil mark to bottom edge, lightly tanned pages. Dust jacket has light soil, short edge tears, small piece from bottom edge where jacket was stuck to book, general wear. Jacket in protective mylar sleeve.
