Based on the Ethel Styles Middleton photoplay, which sees a man forced to choose between leaving either his mother or future brother-in-law to die in a hellish snowstorm. Red cloth w/black lettering, 234 pages + 12 pages of advertisements for other G&D titles, illustrated w/eight scenes from the photoplay. Dust jacket illustration is a tearjerker scene from the movie, showing the protagonist staring away from his sainted mother, who kneels beseechingly beside him as snow swirls about them. Slant, edge soil, moderately worn corners/spine ends, a scrape to front free end paper, a bit of internal soil, in edgeworn dust jacket w/chipping/short tears to corners/spine ends, top 2" of spine torn off, general wear. Dust jacket in protective mylar sleeve. Uncommon in a dust jacket of any kind.
