1st printing w/complete number sequence. The author places his great-great uncle on board a square-rigger rounding Cape Horn at the end of the 19th century, "and brings to life the ship's community as it performs the work of sailing a square-rigger across the sea," telling the story of men who "were sleep deprived and malnourished, at times half-starved," and who faced the all-too-real threat of scurvy. Signed by Lundy, on title page. Black boards w/gilt spine lettering, 449 pages (including Permissions). A nice unread copy.
