A man who has died in his prime while enjoying the fruits of his selfish and dissipated life is now filled with regret as he describes the horrors of Hell, both for him and for other souls who lost their way on earth, and who now suffer along with him as permanent residents of the underworld. And if things aren't already bad enough, his mother shows up to keep him company throughout eternity. Preface by George MacDonald. 214 pages. Previous owner's name/address and date to top of front cover, again at top of first page of preface, a couple of names in pencil (five times) across entirety of first end paper, more name doodling in pencil across entirety of back cover, some chipping to spine ends, 1/4" tear to top right spine edge, 1" tear/chipping to bottom left spine edge, 3.25 tear to right spine edge, small chip to bottom right corner of front cover, light soil. Despite the flaws, this relatively fragile item is still fairly tight and clean. A scarce item.
