A collection of 15 issues (of the 28 published by Gold Key from October 1962 through September 1970) featuring the title character who, with his group of feline cronies from Manhattan, are always trying to make a quick profit while avoiding or outwitting one of New York's finest (Officer Charlie Dibble). The comic was based on the television cartoon show that spent its 30 episodes from September 1961 until April of 1962 entertaining children and teaching them how to hustle after the fast buck instead of applying themselves to honest labour. (God, but I miss cartoons like that -- what do kids today have? Caillou? Gimme a break. That kid should be taken out and whipped on a daily basis, just on general principles.) A couple of these are in really nice condition, with the others about what you would expect from kids' comics from more than 50 years ago -- in other words, not at all collectible. Issue #5 (January 1963) is G w/centre sheet loose at top staple, moderate general wear; #6 (April 1963) is VG w/light smudging to covers, 1/4" tear to fore-edge of front cover, bump to bottom left corner; #7 (July 1963) is G w/rubbing, handling wear, a 1/4" tear to fore-edge of front cover, tiny chip from bottom right corner of front cover, small watermark to bottom right corner of same, small stain to bottom left corner of back cover; #8 (October 1963) is Fr w/more than average handling wear, short edge tears, a bit of dampstaining, centre sheet detached (but present); #9 (January 1964) is a bit better than G, but graded as that nonetheless because the centre sheet is detached at the bottom staple -- otherwise there's average handling wear; #10 (April 1964) is Fr w/some dampstaining, chips to both bottom corners of front covers, creasing, moronic previous owner's 6-cent notation to top of front cover, detached (but present) centre sheet; #12 (October 1964) is VG-F w/a tiny bump to bottom left corner, light handling wear; #13 (January 1965) is VG w/small date stamp to top of front cover, moderate handling wear; #14 (April 1965) is Fr-G w/edgewear, crosscracks, noticeable handling wear; #15 (July 1965) is Fr-G w/noticeable roll, crosscracks, general handling wear; #16 (October 1965) is VG w/a 1/4" tear to fore-edge of front cover, light handling wear; #17 (January 1966) is Fr w/noticeable handling wear, two centre sheets detached at bottom staple; #18 (April 1966) is G w/ink scribble to bottom left corner of front cover, 1/2" tape-repaired tear to fore-edge of front cover, small chip from fore-edge of back cover w/subsequent tear tape repaired, moderate handling wear; #19 (July 1966) is G w/crease across top right corner of front cover, two small chips from bottom edge of front cover, dampstaining across bottom edge throughout; #20 (October 1966) is Fr w/much handling wear, crease to top right corner of front cover, 1" tear and 1/4" tear/partial chip to fore-edge of same, ink numerals to side and bottom edges of back cover. The condition grades given are what I would give to books -- I'm fully aware that comic grading is different and has about 6,000 different variations and gradations and shades, but I didn't do that.
