Two Black kids who grew up a block apart in an Atlanta neighbourhood have taken different paths in life, one walking "the illustrious halls of Yale University," while the other "sits behind bars at the Fulton Regional Youth Detention Center." The latter of the two characters is the protagonist of Stone's earlier novel, the best-selling 'Dear Martin.' Stone's signature is an indecipherable scrawl unworthy of her (see scan), and might as easily be a scribble by an unruly three-year-old. We'll hope for better as her fame and talents grow (although hey, she's a bestselling writer -- I'm just a guy who sells books, and since my own signature isn't what anyone would call elegant....). White boards w/white cloth backstrip w/blue foil spine lettering, 266 pages, + brief author biography and excerpt from 'Dear Martin.' An unread, pristine copy.
