Complete six-volume set detailing Newfoundland's history. All volumes in simulated alligator w/gilt to front covers/spines, illustrated in black-and-white/colour, with the first four signed on front end papers by Smallwood. Volume I (1937, 1968 reprint): 384 pages, illustrated in black-and-white/colour. Protective plastic wrap chipped at top spine, short edge tears, bottom 2" torn from spine, scratches. Volume II (1937, 1968 reprint): 443 pages (including general index). Just mild wear to book/plastic wrap. Volume III (1967, 1st): 602 pages + 82 pages of advertising at rear. Light general wear to plastic wrap. Volume IV (1967, 1st): 599 pages + Newfoundland dictionary of dates, general index to volumes 3 and 4, advertising. Minor edge scrapes, light wear to plastic wrap. Volume V (1975, 1st): 615 pages + advertising. Lacking plastic wrap, edgewear, light smudging to edges. Volume VI (1975, 1st); 630 pages + advertising. Lacking plastic wrap, edgewear, light edge smudging. Signed volumes are relatively uncommon. All in all a fairly nice set, although it weighs about the same as Oprah juggling cement blocks, so be prepared to receive a request for additional postage to get it there from here.
